Guatemala Christmas

The Nativity scene in found every where this time of the year. Every community has several Nativities--even in the government buildings! How wonderful to see how well received it is!
Amazing as this is, we notice that the evangelical community does not participate in this. They seem to think that it is a Catholic thing, so the evangelicals do not have a Nativity in their homes. Many evangelicals do not have Christmas trees either--and many pastors preach against it.
Well--we're glad we've been set free in Christ and that we can celebrate His birth with or without a tree or a nativity.
We will be with our kids this Christmas celebrating His love. We're so thankful for all that Jesus has done in our lives. What a Wonder He is! Be blessed in this special time of the year as you enjoy Life in Jesus Christ!

Sept & Oct

We were extremely blessed to have Pastors Peter & Jean Knapp, long time friends from Conneticut spend a week with us in September as they ministered to our students, to us and held a healing seminar in a church pastored by one of our students. Many miricles were reported and all those in attendance were grateful for their ministry. Thank you pastors for your ministry to Guatemala.

October is always very busy as that is the closing of our Bible School year. We were stretched as we made the arrangements and fullfilled all the graduation activities. With the largest graduation ever for us, we are now planning to relax and visit with some
family and friends in the U. S. before we come back and start
preparing to start another year in teaching the precious Word
of God to the people of Guatemala.

Aug notes

Before the students at the Bible School can graduate, they get to do some "hands-on" ministry which includes how to minister to children. This is the 2nd year that we invited the neighborhood children to the parking lot for games, clowns, puppets, toys, balloons and lots of food. We almost ran out of food. We were expecting about 200 kids. We think God supernaturally stretched the food to feed everybody who came!

What really blessed us was when one of the students invited us to come to their church on Sunday to see how their congregation was going to duplicate what we had instructed them in their own neighborhood. They packed the building out with children and moms. They had songs, games, clowns, gifts, and of course food.
This is what it is all about: duplicating what they learn. Thank you for being a blessing to us so that we can make it all possible! We count it such a privilege to be here--teaching others so they can teach others. Each one teach one.

We love you--Dick and Sharon

June 2009 Update

In June we were blessed to have PastorAllen Runyon with us for a week. We visited various churches and had Pastor teach several times in the Bible Schools that we sponsor. Our students always enjoy having special speakers minister at their churches--and we get blessed as well. In one of the remote rural churches, the message had to be translated from english to spanish to the native tongue Quiche'. That is always an interesting experience! It was special to see the annointing flow in a mighty way during this precious time.
Thank you for coming, Pastor Al.
The Bible School year is progressing rapidly as we are prparing for our year-end graduation activities. We are in the midst of taking pictures of the graduating students. They are so proud to be able to put on their caps and gowns and then to see the photos. For them it is a great experience and a special time in their lives.

Mueller Ministry Update

In May we had our third year students go to one
of the city parks to present a drama and minister
to the people. All came back saying that it was a
tremendous experience. The students were surprised at how in a short period of time they were able to win 30 people to the Lord. The people are extremely receptive and open to receive ministry.

Many students saw how easy it is to evangelize in
public places, and are excited to do this with their
youth groups using this simple drama. This is
exactly the result that we want: to catch a vision
for the lost. We pray that they will continue with
the fervency that they experienced. How blessed
are those who bring Good News!

In March, we had the blessed opportunity to visit Israel with Faith Christian Outreach Church, Mt. Pleasant, Ia. We had the 'time of our life'! We highly recommend going to Israel if you ever have the opportunity. Dick is ready to pack his bags for a return trip. It is hard to say what was our favorite experience....each place we visited was spectacular. Dick really enjoyed the boat trip across the Sea of Galilee, with a Messianic Jewish crew. What a delight to praise God in Hebrew and English!

The Bible School year is about half over already. We start the 2nd semester the last week of May. Last week, Dick came out of one of the classrooms and encountered one of the "hermanas" almost in tears. He thought something bad had happened, as they had just finished one of their exams. She explained that she was "emotional" because she is so thrilled to be able to study the Word. Just this little testimony thrills us beyond words. Obviously, she was beyond words, as well! Another sister always tells me that she regrets waiting so long to study. Well, it is never too late. Even our friend, Bene admits that. She will graduate this year after studying with us for 3 years. She memorizes a lot of the scripture that is used in the class. We consider it such an honor to be used in such a mighty way here in Guatemala. Thank you for your confidence in this ministry!
